Creating a natural habitat is fun and rewarding. There are just five factors to implement when developing your backyard habitat. This is a project that offers personal enjoyment in addition to helping the environment.
1. Food- You can provide a food source with native plants and shrubs that will attract a variety of native wildlife. Native plants can continually provide berries, seeds and pollinators- which is better than a feeder that you have to replenish.
2.Water- A source of water is important for all animals and can be in the form of a bird bath or small water feature.
3.Shelter-Wildlife needs shelter from predators and bad weather conditions. This can be in the form of natural protection such as dense shrubs or large rocks. Something as simple as a broken clay pot sideways can provide a small space for wildlife.
4.Places to Raise Young-Hanging a bird house or installing a frog pond will provide a safe place for wildlife to nest and raise their young.
5.Sustainable Gardening-Don't use chemicals! Chemicals will affect your soil, air, and water- and have a negative effect overall. There are many natural remedies that can be replace chemicals for pest and weed problems.

Great information, I'm looking forward to swinging by the nursery to start my natural habitat. Thanks for the post!
Now I have what I need to start a natural habitat in my garden. Thank you for posting this- I always wondered how to do it the right way. You guys are great! See you next time at the nursery.
P.S. Your farm raised free range chickens are a hit! My family enjoyed seeing them the other day and we also have been enjoying their eggs. They are fresh and taste better than store bought!
Till next time...
